The coloring power of our saffron assures you of pure quality saffron in terms of aroma, flavor and natural dye. Saffron comes in mainly two forms, viz., Kashmiri and Iranian. One can distinguish between the two in terms of yield of stigmas. The stigmas yielded by Kashmiri saffron are very long with a deep red color, while the stigmas of Iranian saffron are very small in size. In terms of price also, there is a large difference between them, as Iranian saffron is half the price of Kashmiri saffron. Saffron has been often known as a magical herb and has occupied a special place in the tradition and culture of many countries. It is largely used in medicines, food, etc. In medicine, specially, saffron has remained the primary herb in many medications including Ayurveda, Unani, Chinese and Tibetan medicines. Popularly known as a stimulant, it help a lot is preventing urinary, digestive and uterine problems.
Apart from all these uses, saffron has also been used as a cosmetic, especially in fairness creams. According to an age old belief, pregnant women who consume saffron give birth to fair babies. However, care should be taken to ensure that saffron is not consumed in large doses by pregnant women, as it can result in miscarriage or induced abortion. Otherwise, saffron has many health benefits like curing sore gums, fatigue, eliminating mental block, and also helping in improving the heart and nervous system.
